Terms and Conditions

Effective October 28, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Good Dog Alerting (the "Service"), operated by Black Lab Technologies ("Black Lab Technologies", "we", "us"). By using the Service, or by receiving text messages or calls from it, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you agree to them for that organization, and "you" includes it.

1. The Service

Good Dog Alerting receives alarms from network management systems, applies rules you configure, displays alarm status, and sends notifications by email, third-party on-call tools, text message (SMS) and voice call. The Service is offered to businesses and government agencies, not to consumers.

2. Accounts

Your organization's administrators create accounts for its users and decide what each may do. You must keep your password and second factor private and tell us promptly of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your organization's accounts.

3. Acceptable use

You will not use the Service to send messages to anyone who hasn't agreed to receive them; to send marketing, political, or unlawful content; to interfere with or probe the Service's security; or to resell it without our written agreement.

4. Text message and voice terms

Program. The Good Dog Alerting alarm notification program sends operational alerts about equipment and network alarms to people who are on call for an organization that uses the Service. Messages come from (844) 650-0689. They are never marketing.

Consent. You receive messages only after your organization's administrator confirms in the Service that you have agreed to receive them, as described on our home page. Administrators must obtain each person's agreement before adding their number, and must remove a number when its owner no longer agrees or no longer works with them. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

Frequency. Message frequency varies with alarm activity and on-call schedules, typically 0 to 10 messages a day.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan. We don't charge recipients.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any text to stop all texts from (844) 650-0689. You'll get one message confirming it, and no more after that. Reply START to receive texts again. To stop voice calls, ask your organization's administrator to remove your number, or contact us at [email protected].

Help. Reply HELP to any text, or contact [email protected] or 920-333-0424.

Acknowledging. Replying ACK to an alarm text, or pressing 1 during an alarm call, acknowledges the alarm and stops its escalation.

Delivery. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text and voice delivery depends on mobile networks outside our control. Don't rely on them as your only means of learning about critical alarms.

Supported carriers. Major US and Canadian carriers. Texts and calls go only to US and Canadian numbers.

Privacy. See our Privacy Policy. We do not share mobile numbers or opt-in consent with third parties for marketing.

5. Your data

Your organization owns the data it puts into the Service, such as alarm data, configuration, contacts and notes. We use it only to provide, secure and support the Service, as set out in the Privacy Policy and any agreement with your organization.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change the Service, and will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what it does.

7. Fees

Fees, if any, are set out in your organization's order or agreement with us. Where that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the agreement controls.

8. Disclaimers

Except as stated in a written agreement with your organization, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The Service supplements, and does not replace, your own monitoring and operational procedures.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the fees your organization paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these Terms, or to protect the Service or others. Sections 5, 8, 9 and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell administrators of material changes in advance.
